Bath Tub in Shower / Wet Room Bathroom Remodel

We converted our hall bathroom into a "wet room" style bathroom with the tub inside the shower.
The original bathroom had a tub/shower style bathtub and 72" double vanity.  In order to accommodate the walk-in shower, we had to downsize to a 36" single vanity.

The contractor added a half-wall and a bench inside the shower.

  1. Hi, found your blog via Pinterest. I'm thinking about doing a wet room style bath for my main bath on the first floor. I was wondering how you like your remodel as far as cleaning, functionality, do you have small kids and does it work well for them, etc. Thanks for any feedback!

  2. We are very happy with the remodel and we didn't have to give up the tub for a walk-in shower. We gave up a double sink 72" vanity for a 36" but we installed an oversized medicine cabinet vanity mirror which makes up for some of the toiletry storage space. Sure, the bathtub gets wet when you take a shower, but it's a bathtub! Kids now grown but wish we had done it years ago when the floor would be sopping wet after bathing. Thanks for asking!

  3. I really like how your wet room shower/turned out! Wondering what the dimensions of the tub/shower space are?

    1. Hi. The tub is 58" x 29". The entire area, including the shower is 58" x 68".

  5. We are looking to do a similar style bathroom. Love the wet room idea. We were told it could cost $80,000 to do this idea. Is that correct?

  6. I have a question did you also have to put in another drain for the shower?
